A Positive Start with New Ride MoM’s Toupie de la Roque in Sanmorin

Last weekend saw the debut of a new mount for Pieter Devos in Sanmorin, the 14 year old mare MoM’s Toupie de la Roque (Kannan x Nabab De Reve).

While this was the first weekend back in competition following his hand injury, and their first weekend together on a global stage, Pieter and Toupie produced an almost flawless weekend together, finishing 6th and 4th respectively in the CSI5* classes.

Toupie has had much history of success over the years, notably winning the Grand Prix in Amsterdam in 2020 with French rider Julien Epaillard, in Mechelen and London, as well as many top ten finishes at many major CSI5* events around the world.

Pieter said: “I’m delighted to form a partnership with MoM’s Toupie de la Roque - she’s the kindest mare and has so much heart! I was very pleased with our first event at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Sanmorin; she hardly put a foot wrong and at this early stage in our partnership I couldn’t be more pleased with her. We will take things slowly, continue to build on our relationship and see what the future holds.”

MoM’s Toupie de la Roque will compete under Pieter until her retirement, where she will become a MoM (Mares of Macha) - an important and significant addition to the herd with her impressive bloodlines, talent and temperament. MoM’s Toupie de la Roque joins MoM’s Isuara - another prominent mare owned by the Mares of Macha group. For more information about Mares of Macha, please click here
